Makassed's services to the Lebanese community are numerous. However, some of its major achievements over the years are summarized below.

1878

-The Foundation of the Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association of Beirut by 24 founding fathers
-Opening of the first school for girls
-Opening of the first dispensary
-Opening of the first boarding school for boys

1908 -The Beirut community demanded the Ottoman authorities to return the properties of Makassed to it to allow it to resume its educational and social role.
1920

-The largest single donation of 2000 Golden Pounds was made to Makassed by King Faysal of Arabia

1920-1930

-Opening of more than a dozen schools.

1923

-Construction of the King Faysal Building, the first Makassed school building
-Appropriating of the Girls College Building in Bashura

1926

-Founding of the "Committee of Educating the Muslim Children in the Rural Areas"

1929 -Founding of the Makassed Alumni Association
1930 -Founding of the Makassed General Hospital
1946

- Opening of the Makassed National Nursing School which became the Makassed higher Institute of Nursing.
- Construction of the Rivoli Movie Theatre as the first Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) project in Lebanon for Makassed

1955

- Construction of BYBLOS building in Bourj Square as another BOT project

1950-1960

-Opening of four new secondary schools in Beirut
-Enlarging of Makassed General Hospital to 200 beds

1966

-Opening of the Center for Teacher Training to become the Institute for Teacher Training

1974 -Construction of the Makassed Commercial Center
1979 -Founding of the Islamic Educational Institutions Union
1981

-Signing of a postdoctoral medical specialty training Protocol between Makassed General Hospital and AUBMC
-Founding of the Makassed Higher Institute of Islamic Studies and the Makassed Islamic University
-Founding of the Makassed Ladies Association
-Founding of the Makassed Scouts

1982 -Establishment of the Makassed Civil Defense
-Opening of the Makassed Publishing House
1984 -Opening of the Makassed Social Health Emergency Center in Beirut
-Launching of the Voice of the Nation radio station
1989

-First prize of an international competition for a painting under the theme "Peace will help us grow", organized and sponsored by the Lions International Club in Lebanon. 13 years old Makassed student, Mustafa Tahoukgi, won the prize.

1992

-Introduction of regular health awareness sessions dealing with issues such as drugs, smoking, heart diseases, diabetes, AIDS , and other transmitted diseases as well as Literacy to medical clinics
-Start up of the Makassed Biannual Medical Congress.

1994

-Commissioned a joint project with UNDP (united Nations Development Program) under Makassed's Urban Development and Environmental Management program
-Opening of The Abdul Hadi Debs Vocational and Technical Center, a generous donation by the late Mr. Abdul Hadi Debs.

1995

-Omar Bin El Khatab School choir won the World Prize for Peace at Hiroshima with their song the "Sun of Peace".

1996

-Founding of the Makassed Veterans League

1997

-Signing of a joint medical and administration training protocol between Makassed General Hospital and Lille University and Toulouse Hospital in France

1998

-Commissioned a project to deal with women's issues and opening a child care facility

1999

-Establishing of Makassed Foundation of America (MFA) in Washington D.C. USA, a charity affiliated Associationto Makassed
2001 -Inauguration of the Makassed Scout city in Araya
